These etchings on 9 inch diameter nineteenth century music box discs were created using the photo etch process. They were inspired by the ‘Machine Age’ art movement of the early twentieth century which celebrated the machine and imagined new ways of living during the optimism of the interwar years.

The imagery in these prints came from photographs of a site specific installation I exhibited at York Racecourse with ‘art&York’ in October 2019. The installation was created using a 70ft punched paper music roll that would once have operated a large mechanical organ.
